Sullivan County, Tennessee Warrant Search

Sullivan County warrants are presumed public per the Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA). The Act establishes Tennessee citizens’ right to access records generated or received by government entities in connection with official business they handled. Warrants are considered part of this categorization. However, the act is not absolute. Warrants that are yet to be served may be restricted from public access to protect ongoing investigations. Additionally, sealed and juvenile warrants are also exempt from public access.

Interested persons may search for Sullivan County warrants through the County Sheriff’s Warrants and Process Division. They must visit the division during regular working hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and bring a valid photo ID to make warrant inquiries, as information about outstanding warrants is typically not given out over the phone. Alternatively, record seekers may visit the clerk’s office of local courthouses to request or access information about warrants issued by their respective courts.
